Devon and Cornwall are of course classic holiday destinations, famous for their beaches, moorland walks, narrow lanes, country inns and of course clotted cream teas. But they have so much more to explore when you do it from the sea. The unique topography and geology of the coast creates spectacular cliffs, beautiful estuaries, tree lined rivers meandering deep into the lush countryside, broad sandy beaches, historic harbour towns, and an abundance of wild life both in the water and the air.

Arriving by sea in the famous ports of Dartmouth, Plymouth, Falmouth, or the smaller but no less fascinating harbours of Topsham, Salcombe, Totnes, Fowey, Newlyn is completely different by sea; no traffic jams of angry emmets or grockles, no remote park and rides, no struggling to find the B&B, no ridiculously overpriced crab sandwiches!
Snark is self sufficient and we can choose to berth alongside, pick up a mooring or just anchor in a quiet anchorage, off the beaten track. On this summers itinerary we will be doing mostly the last of these. We love this coast and know where to go to escape the hoards and get the most from all it has to offer.
There will be time for coastal sailing, gentle river cruising, cliff top walks, visiting heritage, sea swimming (for the brave!), a quite pint at a creekside pub, or just reading that book you've been thinking about. This is the perfect escape from the everyday, a chance to immerse yourself in a completely different world, all accompanied by good home cooked food, wines and beers and good company.
